Belorussian cousine: thick potato pancakes stewed with brisket

Ingredients: 1.2 kg of potatoes 1 onion 2 tbsp. of sour cream 2 tbsp. of flour 1 egg 3-4 cloves of garlic salt freshly ground black pepper some fat for greasing a frying pan Directions:

1. Peel potatoes and grate on the large holes of a box grater.

2. Add one egg, flour, chopped garlic and salt into grated potatoes.

3. Mix all togeather well and bake potato pancakes, 7-10 cm large each one.

4. Cut salted or smoked meat brisket into thin strips.

5. In a well-greased form for baking lay out overlapping layer by layer:

— first a layer of potato pancakes

— a layer of brisket

— a layer of potato pancakes again.

6. Cover the baking form with foil and put in a preheated oven for 30 minutes.

7. Serve hot with sourcream and fresh herbs: chives and dill.
