A lucid dream is a dream in which a person realizes that he is asleep, but at the same time can control himself, the dream scenario, “call” the people he needs to meet and talk, build situations the way he needs. And that’s all possible if you practice intensively at least for 7 days in a row.
Such a dream can even be compared to a controlled hallucination. In the practice of some coaches, there are cases when going into a lucid dream gave students really tangible changes: having learned to manage dreams, they got rid of fears and phobias by working them out in a dream; took off the burden of guilt, receiving forgiveness from those who they are not able to talk to anymore. The practice of lucid dreaming is especially loved by psychologists, with its help they quickly help clients to “close the gestalt” — to identify the reasons and work out conflicts with relatives and spouses.
There are several techniques for entering a lucid dream:
WBTB (Wake back to bed)
You fall asleep as usual, but intentionally wake yourself up after 4-5 hours and stay awake for at least 5 minutes. After that, go to bed: the brain falls into that borderline state when the sleep is not so deep that the consciousness cannot control it. But at the same time, the subconscious begins to awaken.
Senses Initiated Lucid Dreaming
Do everything as in the WBTB method, and when you get back to bed, close your eyes and carefully observe what is happening on the inner screen. Observe these images for five seconds, then listen to what is happening around or within you. The next step is to track sensations in the body or on the body (feel the coolness of the sheets, the hardness of the bed, the softness and heaviness of the cotton blanket, the movement of blood in the legs, your pulse, etc.) Do the entire circle of these three steps at least five times: then you can experience a lucid dream.
WILD (Wake Induced Lucid Dreaming)
The technique is more suitable for experienced dreamers: you need to find that line when closer to the morning you are almost awake, but there are literally 10 more minutes (REM sleep) to have time to walk through the space of dreams and put your order there.
